Oral Surgery

At Warners Bay Dental the removal of a tooth is only considered when no other option is suitable.

Tooth Extractions

As a final measure, tooth extractions are performed for a variety of different reasons (e.g. tooth decay or trauma). Tooth extractions can also be a part of a larger dental procedure including the extraction of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment.

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth start to push through the gum during late teens early twenties. Most people have four wisdom teeth (top and bottom, left and right), unfortunately often there is little space at the rear of the jaws for wisdom teeth to easily erupt and as a result these teeth often become wedged in or ‘impacted’.

Impacted wisdom teeth cause a variety of problems including: infection, pain, crowding, cysts, damage to nearby molars, ulcers and food traps that lead to decay.

Early detection and treatment of suspected impacted wisdom teeth can avoid many of these problems. Warners Bay Dental have the expertise and equipment to detect and effectively treat and/or prevent ‘impacted’ wisdom teeth. For More Information

Orthodontic

Orthodontics literally means ‘straight teeth’ and in the field of dentistry it deals with the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of problems relating to the alignment of teeth and the jaws.

Our dentists are able to organise Orthodontic Referrals if necessary at the time of consultation and examination.

Endodontics – Root Canal Therapy

The aim of root canal therapy is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury.

Often patients will experience pain in the effected tooth as a result of inflammation or infection. The process of root canal treatment is to remove inflamed pulp and the nerves inside the tooth. The tooth may then be filled or crowned, ending the patients pain and enabling the tooth to function as normal.
